Poor quality blinds, worse customer service

Due to a remodeling delay, we did not open our blinds until the 60 day return window had passed. The blinds were 1/2" short of the measurement I provided, metal brackets were visible, the header was almost three inches tall, and the blind material was another 1/4" short of the frame leaving an almost 3/4" gap on both sides. When I requested permission to return past the 60 day window, they offered me more blinds at 50% off. No thanks!

Work with Patricia

We ordered cellular blinds for a large home in the year 2015. Now, in 2021, we ordered cellular blinds for a small home. We did not know the material had changed so much that they made the 2021 blinds with. We measured too short, this time, because this material is entirely different. Unfortunately, they do not make the blinds with the material they had in 2015. Patricia is a wonderful lady who will help you all the way to rectify your issues. She is pleasant to work with and does not play games. If you order, ask for her. She is the reason I am giving Blindster 4 stars. Otherwise, when you call Blindster, you never get a real person on the phone and when they who call back are not warm or friendly like Patricia. One kept repeating that she is there to help me and took too many calls to rectify issues. I do not know if Blindster has changed hands since 2015, but they are extremely lucky to have Patricia.

Blindster is great

Blindster is great! I ordered some roman shades that were from the cheapest fabric group. They don't look luxe, but I did buy the budget product. The best part about Blindster is the customer service. There was an issue with one of my orders and they fixed it. They were super good communicators and send free fabric swatches. AND all this was happening after the terrible storms in Texas where the company is housed. I will AWAYS use Blindster.

Very nice blinds

Samples arrived very quickly. Ordered the blinds a week or so later. They arrived on the day that they said. Opened the box to see that they were packaged very carefully and wrapped in plastic. I had all 3 blinds installed in less than an hour. They are light and open and close very easily. Other blinds that I purchased from other companies were very heavy and when i pulled on the cord it seemed like I was going to pull it off the window they were so heavy. Thanks Blindster I'll be back for more blinds...

Decent product... terrible customer service

First time using this company after using both 3 day blinds and Blinds.com after a referral from a client. Ordering online was straight forward and product was delivered (later than usual but given Covid understandable). The reason for the 1 star is the customer service AFTERWARDS. Had an issue with one of the blinds over a month ago and still not resolve. You cannot speak to an individual, if you call you get a voicemail that recognizes your phone number which states they will call back but never do. I have sent numerous emails requesting one of the blinds be re-made under their "protection policy" (to which I paid for the extended coverage) and still have not received an response. Not a good first impression to say the least. Extremely disappointed, especially with a decent order size (over $500) as well as potential for many additional orders in the future if there was any indication of this company standing behind their products.

Great Customer Service, High Quality Product

I ordered a custom Roman shade from this company and unfortunately it arrived damaged. Shipping issue.
After discussing the problem with customer service- shout out to Chris, Gabby and Cindy!! We found a nice solution to the problem.
The product offered from this company is very sturdy and well made, the brackets it came with were high quality, and fabric wonderful. Sad it was damaged in transit, but I expect my next shipment will be better.

Weird...

Maybe it's just me, but my experience with Blindster has been fantastic. I gotta admit, i was a little concerned spending as much as we did, knowing that Blindster policy was to only replace one set of shutters if the measurements weren't correct.
I sent in the original measurements and had some communication with customer service making a minor adjustment (which still was a bit concerning).
The shutters arrived EARLIER than anticipated via FedEx. Upon opening all boxes during installation, all parts and hardware were included. The online installation Youtube videos were helpful, though the hardcopy with the shipment was adequate. Received all frames and shutters in perfect condition.
Installation went flawlessly, other than my own mistake on one where I installed the frame upside down which fortunately turned out perfectly. Install was super easy. Had my 16 and 17 year old daughters wanted to, I would've let them do it... that's how easy it is.
Thanks Blindster... I'll be back for more.

Blinds end the glare

Blindster staff are extremely helpful. Still, I had to request different mounting brackets for 2 of the 4 blinds. The instructions for top mount are quite clear and the process is easy. Not so for side mount. The directions are confusing. Eventually, the 4 blinds were all hung, but the 2 side mounted blinds can only be held at the preferred height by use of the clip on the side of the window where you can wind the cord. Still, the blinds look great, have solved the glare problem and have helped with the late afternoon extra heat.

Very stiff operation

Ordered roll up shades with metal chains. The shades are difficult to raise and lower. Very stiff

Quality and lack of customer service

I ordered 2 roller shades from Blindster. One was exactly as expected with the exception of the installation instructions. The instructions included with both shades were for different brackets, but I was able to figure it out while waiting for their response. Good thing too, because it took them a full week to respond to my first inquiry. The second shade is full of wrinkles and creases. They asked for photos which I sent, but I've yet to hear from them and it has now been 10 days.

An interesting note, and something to keep in mind. I ordered motorized shades. While I paid the same amount to get two motors, they only shipped one charger. When I asked for a second charger since the shades are in completely different locations, they said they only ship one per order. Funny because their website doesn't state that and they don't charge any less for additional motors.

Bottomline, I normally purchase from a larger, well known window shade supplier and thought I'd give Blindster a try. Well buyer beware. Is it less expensive, sure, on the surface. But it is not an apples to apples comparison either. You pay less, but you get less. Less customer service and less quality. If that is ok with you, then you should be ok. But if you are looking for a perfect shade the first time around, I'd look elsewhere.

Fraudulent and Dishonest

This company did not deliver our blinds. We disputed the charge with our credit card company. They finally reached out to us, and claimed it was a UPS error, and asked us to remove the dispute since this was bad for their credit. They promised to issue a refund check. We were nice and cooperated to help them out, removing the dispute. They never sent the promised check. It's been a month, and they claim it was mailed. Although the check was never cashed and never received, today they told me that the supervisor will not reissue it. *** UPDATE: The accounting department received the return check in the mail and called me to confirm my address. They forwarded the check to me. So although it took A LOT of effort, and time, in the end, I wasn't out any cash. So I'm raising my review to 3 stars.

Terrible

I ordered 7 shades for different rooms in my place. One shade came broken. From all of them I was only able to install 3 but I had to get different brackets to make it work. I had to ask for a remake on the other 4 and pay extra for delivery and one shade. After giving them the exact measurements for each window the second time came also 1/4" smaller and since they're inside mount any difference will make it hard to install. Since the y only have a 3 shade remake for free I wasn't able to complain again.
Never using this company again
